AW13 Beauty Trends from New York Fashion Week - rag & bone

Revlon were supporting rag & bone for their Autumn / Winter ‘13 Presentation at New York Fashion Week, Friday 8th February, 2013, where Revlon Global Artistic Director, Gucci Westman created a retro look with a twist.....

WHAT: Revlon Global Artistic Director, Gucci Westman, juxtaposed the masculine designs of rag & bone’s Autumn / Winter ‘13 collection with a soft and feminine makeup look.
“I wanted to create a look that was super girly and contrasted with the masculine feel of the collection,” says Westman. “The focus of this look is definitely the eyeliner. I added a bit of a modern twist to a classic 60’s look by using a gel liner across the top of the lid. I kept the rest of the look simple and paired it with natural and luminous skin. I love how the whole look is a bit retro, but still fresh.”

Nicole Kidman 'Uncovers' Bob at Grammys
With the Grammy's asking celebrities to "Cover-Up", Hairstylist David Babaii "Un-Covers" Nicole's super sleek and sexy blunt bob. David says, "the cut is the foundation for any look".
He first cut Nicole's hair into a true blunt bob so there were no layers. To keep control while cutting, he sprayed the hair with IT&LY HAIRFASHION'S 2 Phase Hydrashine. This leave in conditioning spray helps to seal and mend the ends for the perfect finish. David used his favourite
Pininfarina Shears by IT&LY to execute precision cutting.
After the cut and center parting, he finished the hair with IT&LY'S Pure Texture Spray to maintain optimum straightness and a flat iron to seal the sleek finish. A light spritz of IT&LY'S Pure Definition Hair Spray provided memory hold and touchable softness.
I'm not usually a fan of blunt cuts but I quite like this look on Nicole...definitely sets her apart at the Grammys.

Mariah Carey Winter'12 OPI Liquid Sand
I tried out the Mariah Carey Limited Edition Winter 2012 collection for OPI nails today. The new Liquid Sand Lacquers with a textured, matte finish infused with reflective sparkle! The one I'm wearing is 'Get Your Number'; Matte Blue with Sparkles. I don't usually like colours like blues and greens on the nails so i was hesitant in wearing this shade, although it looked quite nice with the liquid sand effect. I still took it off after one day! The only thing that disappointed me was how difficult it was to take off. It also left my nails slightly dry after. The Press Event was held in Sketch last week.

Grosvenor Casino's Search For a Model 2012
Well it's been a while but I'm back with some exciting news about Grosvenor Casino's Search For a Model 2012. www.grosvenorcasinos.com/searchforamodel
The competition is now open for entries until 23.59pm on Monday, 7 May. 'Grosvenor Casinos' Search for a Model' is shaping up to be a highly competitive event, with the winner collecting £1,000 in prize money and a one - year modelling contract with leading London-based modelling agency, Nevs.
To enter, aspiring models need to log onto www.grosvenorcasinos.com/searchforamodel and follow the simple entry process. Entries must be received by Monday, 7 May and the shortlist of successful entrants will then take part in regional heats hosted at nineteen Grosvenor Casinos across the country. The live events are taking place between Tuesday, 22 May and Thursday, 31 May 2012. The judging panel will include leading fashion show producer, Lesley Goring, plus nevs' head of fresh faces, Steve Haynes. The winning finalists from each of the live heats will then compete in the Grand Final on Saturday, 9 June at a glamorous event held at Grosvenor G Casino Coventry. The competition is open to all women over the age of 18 years.
Steve Haynes, head of fresh faces at nevs commented: "We are extremely excited about being a part of Grosvenor Casinos' Search for a Model 2012 competition. We are experts in seeking out the best emerging modelling talent and this is the perfect vehicle for highlighting great new faces." Fashion show producer, Lesley Goring commented: "I have been committed to nurturing young talent throughout my career, working alongside the UK's leading fashion colleges and with TV programmes such as 'Britain's Next Top Model'. This competition is another avenue for me to strengthen my ties with the upcoming stars of the future and I am looking forward to seeing the variety of talent that we discover on this competition journey."
Regional Heats will take place on the following:
